Kentucky Wildcats Morning Quickies: Bahamas Edition

UK Men's Basketball announced their schedule for the Bahama's trip this August. It should be interesting, and looks quite challenging. More here.

That will make a difference, believe me. Oh, UK will still have growing pains, but probably they will be less severe and hopefully shorter than last season.

• Dominique Hawkins is happy at the return of the Harrison twins:

  "My reaction was, I was like, Yes!," Hawkins said as he raised both hands into the air. "Because I felt like with them coming back, it takes pressure off me because I feel if they were not coming back, I'd have to play lots of minutes."

  "I want to play a lot of minutes . . . ," Hawkins said, "but it takes pressure off me, like, where I can just come in and play relaxed."

• Mayor Jim Gray and Dr. Eli Capilouto met to discuss the Rupp Arena project. It was described as "positive," but details are lacking.

• James Young works out for the Denver Nuggets.

• It's not surprising to find Jeff Goodman assimilating data that ranks Calipari lower at preparing players for the NBA. I'm automatically suspicious of any work done by Goodman.

• August game schedule announced. This looks pretty challenging to me.

• Randle works out for Philadelphia 76ers. Imagine Randle and Nerlens Noel on the same team. Fun!

• Dominque Hawkins advises UK incoming freshment to "be patient" with John Calipari. To me, that's hilarious, young men telling younger men to "be patient" with a 55-year old future Hall of Fame coach.

• A.J. Reed named All-American.

• Two Wildcats advance to event finals in the NCAA Track & Field tournament, Kendra Harrison to the 400m hurdles and Allison Peare to the 1500m final

• The SEC really shined this season in the MLB draft.
