Mike D'Antoni has resigned as Los Angeles Laker coach. Get ready for another round of "Calipari to the Lakers" fun and games.
Tweet of the Morning
Word is that Calipari has turned down the Lakers job for a creamy bowl of Mint Chocolate yogurt from Orange Leaf.

Mark Stoops reviews Kentucky's spring practice. I think we saw some good stuff, and I'm pleased with the spring game. The injuries were troublesome, but sadly, they are part of sports.
-
Kentucky football players are making in-person sales calls to fans trying to help sell season ticket packages. I think that's a great idea, although the NLRB will probably see it as forced labor or something.

If you haven't read A2D2's fan's eye view story of the spring game, go do it now.

4-star linebacker Eli Brown felt more appreciated at UK than anywhere else. That means that the coaching staff is doing their job.

Only in Kentucky would UK's size be described as a "burden." There are a lot of coaches who would gladly take up the "burden" of the Wildcats' height.

I do an interview with Windy City Wildcats, a DePaul University grad student who covers Kentucky. Thanks to Kelsey for asking me to do this.

I'm sure this was posted earlier, but Kentucky makes the cut for 7-foot big man Stephen Zimmerman.

Kentucky is in a showdown with Memphis for 6'8" Dedric Lawson.

Gary Parrish has Kentucky #1 in his latest top 25. Still waiting to hear from Doug Gottlieb.

Myles Turner picks Texas. One of the last 2014 holdouts gave Rick Barnes a very happy Tuesday. I think this is a really good fit for Turner, and the Longhorns just got a lot better. They will be a contender nationally next season. Longhorns fans are happy.

The Tar Heel Blog takes on Dan Kane, the guy who has been breaking much of the news about the North Carolina academic scandal. I have little to offer. If anyone deserves a dose of a crusading, agenda-driven reporter (and I'm not saying Kane is one, I really don't know), it's North Carolina. They made their bed the Carolina way. Now, they can sleep in it.

Praise for Jodie Meeks getting his degree from his hometown newspaper. And the news for Jodie is all good right now:
The diploma is nice, but another important piece of paper will await Meeks’ signature this NBA offseason.
It’s free agency time for Meeks and he stands to cash in much more than his first round of free agency, when the Los Angeles Lakers signed him to a two-year, $3.05 million contract in 2012. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard’s scoring ability and 3-point shot should drum up considerable interest in the coming months.
Good for you, Jodie. I always thought you would stick in the NBA, and now that you're thriving, I couldn't be more pleased.

Ronnie Turcotte, Hall of Fame rider of the great Secretariat, is unhappy with Churchill Downs, and said so quite publicly:
Turcotte recounted multiple instances in which he believes he was treated unfairly by Churchill, first when he was the subject of a documentary filmed at Churchill Downs in 2012. The track, he said, did not offer him on-site parking for his participation. Instead, a film crew paid $500 for him to get on the grounds.
Churchill Downs has vowed to address the matter.
