Kentucky Wildcats Morning Quickies: Calipari's Tweak Edition

The SEC Tournament is Kentucky's last real chance to figure it out. Nobody is confident it will happen, but everyone seems to be wary.

With the recent news that Coach Cal has made some kind of "tweak" (hopefully not a "twerk) to the offense, the Big Blue Nation is somewhat intrigued:

I don't know what he did. But I've often praised Calipari for this very type of thing -- for seeing the easy and common-sense solution to a problem and implementing it. In 2010, he had this dribble-drive offense that the whole world was talking about when he arrived at UK fresh off a trip to the championship game with Memphis, then he looked at his team and saw one DeMarcus Cousins, and decided that instead of dribble-drive, he would just pass and get out of the way. So down the ball went to Cousins, from the wings, from Patrick Patterson in the high post. Simple things. Effective results.

• Of course you know Kentucky has fallen out of the AP and Coach's poll. But Michigan St. is barely hanging on at #22. To be fair, they have been injured all season, and Kentucky has not. But they're not injured anymore. There are some other teams who have disappointed besides Kentucky, too.

• Well, you'll be seeing plenty of this. Calipari isn't paying attention, which, I think, is probably for the best. Dance with who brung ya.

• More one-and-done stuff. Calipari is making more sense on this than anyone else.
