LaRubbio checks in at 6’5" and 285lbs. He was recruited by coaches Vince Marrow and John Schlarman. Some others who offered LaRubbio were Arizona St., Wisconsin, Louisville, Duke, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt. He had offers from 19 schools. LaRubbio committed to UK on May 23rd. As you can see in his video, he maintains contact with his blocks. Word online is that LaRubbio is a hard-working and physical linemen who will contribute in his time at UK.

LaRubbio likely will play offensive guard. The offensive line had issues last season and a lot of that had to do with failings at the interior, according to Coach Brown. Right guard Kevin Mitchell has graduated and it’s likely that redshirt freshman Ramsey Meyers fills his spot as the coaches had very positive things to say about him last fall. The left guard position is filled by returning starter junior Zach West, and West is backed up by two seniors-to-be. My guess is that LaRubbio will get a shot at the right guard position behind Meyers, but a redshirt is the most likely scenario as older teammates will be shuffled to cover second string at the right guard.
