A 37-year old Salvadoran man washed up on shore on the Mashall Islands. He was adrift for 13 months across the pacific ocean. If it's not a hoax, it's an amazing tale of survival, and it doesn't look like a hoax.
Tweet of the Morning:

Big news. Tubman was a Penn St. commit, and I am hearing that he's likely to sign with UK tomorrow.

This is good news. St. X is a really fine football high school, and he might be better than most people think. I always like to see walk-ons from Louisville.
-
UK's football commercial run regionally during the Super Bowl was a big YouTube hit. That's awesome.

SI.com's Chris Johnson tries to answer the question of whether or not Kentucky's improved recruiting will lead to more success in the SEC. Here's my comment: If it doesn't we have a coaching problem. But also, consider this:
The Wildcats' recruiting pitch involves articulating a vision of what the program can achieve in the future -- not what it hasn't in the recent past. Though Kentucky went 2-10 (0-8 SEC) last season, Stoops and his staff have not hesitated to compete against big-name programs on the recruiting trail. And Kentucky has won more than a few of those battles: The Wildcats beat out Louisville, Tennessee and South Carolina for Barker; Auburn, Clemson and LSU for all-purpose back Stanley Williams; and Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State for Elam.

Kentucky very happy with the response to their Super Bowl football ad.

Eric Lindsey, writing for CoachCal.com, notes that this year's Kentucky team has accomplished a very negative feat — allowing two straight opponents to shoot better than 50% against them.
Defense is the one remaining hurdle the Wildcats must climb if they want to compete for the NCAA Tournament title. They still have time.

Austin Cousino and A.J. Reed named preseason All-Americans by Baseball America. Baseball starts next week on Valentine's day when the Wildcats take on Virginia in Wilmington, NC.

How National Signing Day could change the top 25 classes. It's truly wild to see UK in this list — above Penn St., South Carolina, Oklahoma St, and Virginia Tech just to name a few.

Seth Davis tries to redefine "talent." I think talents come in all shapes and sizes. Energy and discipline are both talents of a sort, as is concentration. "Talent" in the basketball sense, though, tends to be more physical than mental or dispositional. I don't think this attempt is going to succeed, but I do take his point, and it is a worthy one.

That Oklahoma St.-Iowa St. game was awesome, but I had to go to bed after the second overtime.

DeAndre Liggins a D-League All-Star. I don't think he's going to languish there much longer.

Wow, Joakim Noah. Control that anger, son.

Jared Lorenzen is still playing football, still enormous, and still awesome.
