Tonight is the closing ceremony of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. I think that, all things considered, and especially considering pre-Olympics expectations, Sochi turned out very well.
The postmortem for the LSU game will be along in an hour or so. I like to be lazy on Sunday.

Eric Crawford talks about the Wildcats and Cardinals (but I don't care about the Cardinals). Here's a taste:
This is an LSU team that will not get to the NCAA Tournament without first winning the SEC Tournament. An LSU team that has now lost six consecutive road games in the Southeastern Conference. A 10-loss LSU team that has lost games this season to Rhode Island and Alabama. It lost by 14 in overtime at Ole Miss. It lost by 13 at Georgia, by 10 at Texas A&M and by 11 at Arkansas. None of those teams are headed for the NCAA Tournament either.
Well, this 10-loss LSU team should be a tournament team. The fact that they aren't does not obviate their significant talent, and the fact that they match up better with Kentucky than any team in the country not named Kansas.
We'd all like Kentucky to take the blue pill. They aren't read to do that yet, for whatever reason

Harrison twins were clutch yesterday, according to CoachCal.com. I agree. James Young, too.

Corey Nichols at KSR wonders if this game was "that" game. Don't we ask this question almost every game these days?
-
"They looked like teenagers and they looked happy. And that’s important." I think this is right. In a way, this has been a season without joy. The pressure of expectations have weighed heavily.
Of course, we can hope that this is the catharsis that changes that, but, as I said, we seem to think that about every game these days.

Boeheim gets ejected after going nuts over a charge call. The call was bad, but it was close enough that it wasn't egregious, and in Tony Greene's defense, it was a call that could have been missed by anybody at full speed. What I didn't like was Greene ejecting Boeheim — I thought that was over the top. A good official would have t'd him up and walked away. Greene didn't do that. In my opinion, he's a poor official, and I hope he doesn't get to officiate any important tournament games.

Georgia handles South Carolina easily. This Bulldogs team is much better than they look. I credit Mark Fox, for whom I have a great deal of respect, and I agree with the author that Georgia may have turned a corner.
