Skinner's Winners in Starkville - Preview and Game Thread

#15 UK Volleyball faces the Bulldogs on the road in their final televised game of the regular season. If you've never watched this club in action, you've been missing out on a real treat. Let's catch up with our Kill(er) Kittens, and discuss what to expect in their Sunday Showdown on the SEC Network.

Let's wrap up this season with three straight wins, Wildcats!

With 3 games to go in the regular season, UK Volleyball has lost their chance at winning the SEC - that honor lies with the still undefeated in SEC play Florida Gators - but are working to position themselves for the best shot possible at hosting a NCAA regional. In short, these last three games are just as important to our Kittens as the first three.

Mississippi State is 2-13 in conference play, and 7-23 overall but as we know, road games in the SEC are always a fight to the finish.

Our hopes for this game:

Major improvement on defense: Porous D cost us a lot when we faced Florida last week.  Outside of a terrific second set, we looked very weak in blocking the Gators who kept managing to nail the ball right over our front line players' heads. Coach Skinner had a LOT of video to review with his club, and I'm really looking to see this element of our game improve.

Aggressive but not too aggressive offense. No service errors would be great. So would minimal net errors.

An incredibly effective first 2 sets, because nothing rattles the opposition like the Cats cruising through their first 2 games.

After tomorrow's game, we face a 12-16 Auburn club on the road, and wrap up with 14-14 Arkansas in Lexington. A 3-0 run here would be a great way for our powerhouse seniors Lauren O'Conner and Jackie Napper to close out their final SEC games. Let's make it happen, Cats!

We'll be here at ASoB, cheering our Cats on to victory. Game time is 2 PM EST - hope to see you then! Until gametime - GO BIG BLUE!
