Welcome to Week 14 of the 2014 College football season. This is a bit of a down week for college football with very few premiere matchups compared to recent weeks. Kentucky, of course, is off this week before their big finale versus the Louisville Cardinals at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. Not only are the Wildcats playing their biggest rival next week, but a win gets them bowl eligible.
But that’s next week. Let’s take a quick look at a few of today’s better games:
Early games
- Minnesota Golden Gophers at Nebraska Cornhuskers — This should be a very competitive game against two solid Big Ten teams.
Afternoon games
-
Boston College Eagles at Florida State Seminoles — Boston College is tough, and Florida State has shown some vulnerability. Despite the fact this is in Tallahassee, this is a very dangerous game for FSU.
-
Louisville Cardinals at Notre Dame Fighting Irish — Notre Dame has been struggling lately, but they are still a more talented team than the Cardinals. I am a Notre Dame fan today.
-
Ole Miss Rebels at Arkansas Razorbacks — After a big win against LSU last weekend, you’d have to think Arkansas would be poised to give Ole Miss problems. I don’t see it, I think the Rebels win this one comfortably.
-
Arizona Wildcats at Utah Utes — Arizona has been going the wrong way lately, and they will be sorely tested in Utah, where the Utes are coming off a big road win at Standford. I think Arizona is good enough to take this game, though.
Evening games
-
Missouri Tigers at Tennessee Volunteers — Are the Vols really that good? We’ll find out tonight.
-
USC Trojans at UCLA Bruins — The cross-town rivalry that’s no doubt the best in the West. The fact both are in the top 25 makes it even better. Game of the night, in my opinion.
Treat this as an open thread for all things football, or all things Wildcat.
