NCAA Football 2014: How To Watch Today's Games 10.04.2014

Here is your listing of today's college football games including times, channels, and brief analysis of selected games.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to week six of the college football season. Here are your games on tap for today. Of course, we’ll all (well, except for me, I’ll be watching basketball in the Chicken Ranch) be closely watching the South Carolina Gamecocks at Kentucky Wildcats game tonight in Commonwealth Stadium.  This is the open thread for all football games other than the Kentucky-South Carolina contest.

But other than that, there some very meaningful contests today. Here are the ones that I’ll be tuning in to before heading downtown:

12:00 time slot

  • Texas A&M Aggies at Mississippi St. Bulldogs — This one has serious repercussions, as the winner would be in position to challenge Alabama and Auburn for the SEC West.  Both teams are currently undefeated, but that ends today.

  • Florida Gators at Tennessee Volunteers — This one likely has no serious repercussions, but it may serve as both a measuring stick for Kentucky’s defeat at the hands of the Gators and give us some insight on how a future foe, Tennessee, stacks up against a team that we’ve already played. I still hold out hope that the Wildcats can knock off the Vols later this season.

3:30 time slot

7:00 time slot

  • LSU Tigers at Auburn Tigers — This is a tough spot for LSU, but they need this game pretty badly to retain any hopes at all of competing for the West. Lose this, and they are playing for something other than the College Football Playoff.

After 7:00

Enjoy the games today. Talk about them in here.
