To say Friday night's match over Arkansas was interesting is an understatement. The Kill(er) Kittens could not seem to shut down the Hogs, and we were treated to some fantastic rallies by both clubs. In the end, the Cats swept but wow, was it a battle.
That is going to seem like a leisurely stroll through the daisies compared to TAMU today.
One of three ranked SEC clubs this season, TAMU may not look all that impressive at 13-6 and 5-3 in SEC play. Those stats DO NOT tell the story of this team. Their early season wins over #6 USC and #13 San Diego State have prepped this group very well for SEC play. Led by MB and SEC hitting leader Shelby Sullivan, expect to see awesome performance from Setter Stephanie Aiple and MB Jazzmin Babers.
I anticipate seeing a lot of action and energy between Sullivan and Lauren O'Conner, Anni Thomasson and Kaz Brown. Anni is coming off a monster performance Friday, where she delivered her 10th double-double of the season with 11 kills and 12 digs. Morgan Bergren is really starting to get good action at setter, and I'm hoping to see that continue against the Aggies.
Texas A&M has never suffered from poor fan support, and the lure of a televised game always seems to take a great environment to the next level in the SEC. To balance out the Aggie insanity, we'll be right here, cheering our Cats on at ASoB. Game time is noon EDT on the SEC Network - hope to "see" you there!
