Danny Trevathan had a rather notable debut last night. He intercepted a Joe Flacco pass, ran it back to the end zone, and celebrated a bit prematurely by dropping the ball as he entered. Unfortunately, the ball was out of his hands before he broke the plane. DeSean Jackson is thanking God he's not the only one.
Tweet of the Morning:
Peyton Manning 7 TD passes tonight, more than a third of what the Broncos threw for the entire 2011 season before he arrived.

Paul Jordan wonders if the Kentucky media is tougher on the Wildcats than it's fans. I don' really think so, but they are in a similar position to many of us — unwilling to give a completely free pass to the new coach. [via Hank]

The "mind" game is big at Kentucky. Right now, this team doesn't know how to win, and they don't expect to win. That has to change.

Pride goeth before the fall. Richie Farmer demonstrates the wisdom of that old adage. [via Hank]

Should Richie Farmer's jersey be removed from Rupp's rafters? I don't think so. This is not O.J. Simpson we're talking about. Farmer did a bad thing, but in the context of bad things, it doesn't rise to the level of a Great Evil. He was done in by his own sense of entitlement, which, after a couple of years in jail, should be significantly reduced. [via Hank]

Calipari's alumni games are great for two things — charity and recruiting.

Blah, blah, blah. Sorry, Richie, no sale. I think you regret getting caught. You'll have a couple of years to meditate on that.

The proposed "UN Security Council" for the NCAA. This is an interesting idea. Trouble is, basketball is likely to be further back-burnered by such an arrangement.
