In an announcement that shocked no one, 2014 power forward Trey Lyles from Indianapolis (IN) Arsenal Tech made it known that he is down to two schools. One way or another, Lyles is bluegrass bound. He will decide between the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals. Lyles cut two previous finalists, the Florida Gators and Butler Bulldogs.
In an interview with the Courier-Journal, Lyles cited proximity, coaching, and both programs' recent national championships as key factors in his decision. Though he did not mention a decision date, it remains likely that Lyles will decide by the fall signing period in November.
Lyles took an official visit to Louisville at the end of August. He plans to take his official visit to Lexington on October 18 for Big Blue Madness. Those two visits will be the only ones Lyles takes.
Lyles, a former Indiana commit, hosted in-home visits from the coaching staffs of both Louisville and Kentucky last week. The battle for the talented five-star power forward figures to be extremely interesting as the two rivals face off in an off-the-court recruiting tilt.
