2014 PG Tyler Ulis to Announce College Decision Friday, Kentucky Wildcats Considered the Favorite

The hotly recruited point guard from the greater Chicago area has made his decision.

Tyler Ulis, a point guard in the class of 2014, will announce his collegiate decision this Friday. Per Michael O'Brien of the Chicago Sun-Times, Ulis plans to announce his decision live on a local sports program, High School Cube News, at approxmiately 7:20 central time.

Ulis, who plays at Marian Catholic in the greater Chicago area, just visited the Kentucky Wildcats this past Monday to attend the UK Alumni Charity game. He also took official visits to see his two other finalists, the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan St. Spartans, prior to his official visit to Kentucky.

At this point in his recruitment, all signs point to Kentucky as the team to beat. 247 Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions for Ulis are overwhelmingly dominated by the Wildcats. At one point earlier this summer, the majority of the predictors favored Michigan St. However, this recent Evan Daniels tweet pretty much says it all:

With Kentucky already missing on Emmanuel Mudiay, a commitment from Ulis would go a long way in regaining momentum for the 2014 recruiting class. The downside is that if Ulis commits, the Wildcats are likely done seriously recruiting Tyus Jones. However, the common belief is that Kentucky stood little chance of landing Jones anyway.

Kentucky may be close to landing its point guard for the 2014 class. We'll find out in two days.
