Kentucky football

• These two will be attending UK's Friday Night Blue Lights camp in hopes of getting an offer. [Hank]

• Spencer Hall's SEC Media Days coverage is the most entertaining. [Hank]

• Governor's Cup date and time set. Ohh, shiny. Can the start time be an omen?

• Five Kentucky freshmen to watch.

• Kentucky football's schedule poster. Said to be a must-have.

• Rick Bozich ranks Mark Stoops 13th out of 14 SEC coaches, and does it in the annoying third person.

• Season ticket sales are starting out strong.

• Shucks. There is no Kentucky football buzz in Florida. And I had such hopes ...

Kentucky basketball

• John Calipari is in Washington D.C. for the Nike Global Challenge to evaluate recruits.

• Luke Kennard recently received a UK offer. Rick Pitino follows suit.

• John Calipari is writing another book, which will no doubt be a best-seller. The title is, Players First: Success from the Inside Out.

  I'll be buying it, no doubt.

• Chad Ford says the 2013-14 Kentucky team is one of the three largest groups of talent in the history of college basketball.

  I'd agree with that.

College football

• Self-serving statement? I would imagine that those "students with athletic ability" signed with other schools. [Hank]

  "Those scholarships fell off the face of the earth," he said. "They didn't get redistributed. To me, there are students with athletic ability who could have gotten a college education, who are not. Why is the NCAA punishing potential students? … It's just not the right way to provide punishment" of an institution.
