Remember earlier today in the Quickies when I showed you a screenshot of Rival.com and UK's football recruiting ranking was #12 overall in the nation? How quickly things change.
Vince Morrow, the peerless assistant and stud Ohio recruiter, today landed Ohio prospect Mike Edwards from the Cincinnati area. Here's what Ben Roberts of NextCats has to say about him:
Rivals considers Edwards a three-star prospect, the No. 33 safety in the country and the No. 16 overall recruit in the state of Ohio for 2014. The 5-foot-11, 182 pounder also had offers from Louisville, Nebraska, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
Scout.com ranks Edwards as a four-star prospect and the No. 233 overall player in the class.
Read the whole thing to catch up on the overall class if you have not been paying proper attention to Hank's many posts on the subject, including this recent one.
The Wildcats are now #7 in the nation according to Rivals.com, and have blown past such programs as:
- Alabama (currently #8)
- Florida St. (Currently #11)
- Louisville (Currently replacing UK at #12)
- LSU (Currently #14)
- Florida (Currently #18)
- Oklahoma (Currently #24)
- Georgia (Currently #28)
- Southern Cal (Currently #42)
Stoops & Co. are getting it done, folks, and no mistake. It may take a year or two, but this will matter. Yes, I know that Kentucky is unlikely to wind up in the top ten, but you never know.
