Kentucky takes on a very tough Dayton team in the next round of the NCAA Women's Tourney. Very tough.

Matthew Mitchell better have his "A" coaching game tonight. The Dayton Flyers are going to meet Kentucky in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tourney and they only have one thing on their minds. Upset.

Dayton comes off a double overtime victory over St. John's on their home court in a game that they had won, then lost, and then won again. UD is 28-2, and not afraid to face anyone. They play an uptempo game, and they will not hesitate to run with Kentucky. They have outside shooters and use the 3pt shot frequently. In the St. John's contest, Andrea Hoover had 24 points and freshman Kelly Austria had 21, both career highs. Hoover was 4-4 from beyond the arc, and Austria added another one.

The one thing that UK cannot afford is for Senior guard and Team Captain A'Dia Mathies to disappear again. After going scoreless in the opening round against Navy, UK has to find a way to get A'Dia out on Dayton early and often. Navy's game plan of denying Mathies the ball worked well against her, but the rest of the team picked up the slack. Counting on that happening twice is not a good strategy. Kentucky has scorers, of that, there is no doubt. Kentucky needs Mathies. She is the heart and soul of this team. Kentucky without A'Dia Mathies is a good team. Kentucky WITH A'Dia Mathies is a Final Four team.

Expect Kentucky to start out working the ball inside with the guards tonight, and to use DeNesha Stallworth in the paint with Samarie Walker. Dayton has Cassie Sant and Olivia Applewhite inside, and they are a good tandem that works inside out. Kentucky will need to establish that inside presence early and get Stallworth and Walker comfortable. Mathies is going to have to be the player that triggers that inside activity.

Game tips off at 7:15 on ESPN2. Be there. Aloha!
