Well, that was a frustrating half. The officials in this game are allowing an awful lot of contact, and that really doesn’t bode well for Kentucky, who just isn’t very good in games like that.
Despite that, the Wildcats are only down three and arguably should be down a lot more after turning the ball over 11 times in the first half alone. The only reason Kentucky is even in this game is because they can’t shoot straight, and they don’t know the difference between a good shot and a bad one.
The Wildcats so far have managed a whopping 4 offensive rebounds against the Hawgs 9. Ryan Harrow has once again become a shrinking violet, taking bad shots, turning the ball over by overdribbling and not being strong.
Alex Poythress is not in this game at all, and Kentucky has a lot of fouls piled up with 3 players having two fouls already. The only guy who seems to be able to do anything is Archie Goodwin, who is leading the team with 9 points.
Kentucky can win this game, but it will take a different team than we saw last half.
Go, ’Cats!
