Kentucky Wildcats Football: 4-Star Wide Receiver Ryan Timmons Pledges

Ryan Timmons, a much-desired wide receiver prospect from Franklin County, committed this afternoon to the University of Kentucky.

Timmons is ranked a three star by Rivals and Scout, four star by ESPN and 24/7. He is the seventh player ranked at the four star level that Mark Stoops has landed since he came to Kentucky after the season. This is especially significant since Stoops hasn't really had time to recruit very much, since a number of prospects had already committed before he came. Not only that, it normally takes years of relationship development to get the better players.

This is yet another very exiting development for Kentucky football, and another sign (as if one was really needed) that Mark Stoops was the right hire for UK. It's also clear that Kentucky's new commitment to football has been noticed by prospects, and that is giving the recruiting process an extra boost along with the buzz around the program created by Mark Stoops & Co.

Timmons chose Kentucky over Arkansas, Cincinnati, Illinois, Florida, Ohio St. and Purdue, among others.
