Kentucky 25, Florida 38: Second Half Game Thread

Kentucky is lost in Gainesville right now, and the reason is that Kentucky's guards have zero confidence and are playing as if they don't care whether they win or lose.

I could go on and on about what went wrong that half, but everyone saw it. Kentucky failed to communicate on defense, they were timid on offense. If you watched UK trying to set screens, you saw that the only player who set a single effective screen all game long was Kyle Wiltjer. You can't just fake a screen, you have to absorb at least some contact or it doesn't help.

Kentucky is simply outclassed in team execution on both ends of the floor in this game, and no mistake about it. They are capable of a big comeback, but I don't know if they have the heart, particularly at the guard spot. Archie Goodwin and Ryan Harrow continue to hang their heads after every big play, and I really see what Calipari means when he talks about playing "cool." Willie Cauley-Stein, Harrow, and Goodwin have all played "cool."

Not sure what Calipari can say, but I hope he has some magic beans with him for the second half.
