Kentucky hoops takes on the Grambling State Tigers today at 2:00pm in Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky is coming off a loss to the Duke Blue Devils, their first loss of this season. Today, they look to get back to their winning ways.
Quick tale of the tape:
Grambling State
- Record: 3-7
- RPI: 214
- 2013 record: 9-23 (6-12)
- Coach: Patricia Bibbs
- Last game: Defeated Philander Smith 70-64
Kentucky
- Record: 11-1
- RPI: 12
- 2013 record: 30-6 (13-3)
- Coach: Matthew Mitchell
- Last game: Lost to Duke, 69-61
This is a game Kentucky should win fairly easily. Grambling is a fairly experienced squad, but they don't have anywhere near the combination of talent and experience enjoyed by the Kentucky Wildcats.
Kentucky needs to get back on the winning track after their difficult loss to Duke in a sold-out Rupp Arena. They will still be lacking leading scorer DeNesha Stallworth, so we need to see big performances from the likes of Janee Thompson, Jennifer O'Neil, Azia Bishop, and Samari Walker today. The GSU Tigers are not likely to be able to push back too hard against Kentucky's 40 minutes of Dread defense.
Go, 'Cats!
