Home Cooking- Gooooooooooooooooooooooood Morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrning Big Blue Nation!!! All bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this fine day? No? You should be. We are coming off an undefeated weekend. We are rolling. Ranked #1 in the nation. We have once again reeled in the pieces needed to produce another banner in the rafters of the hallowed halls of Rupp Arena! So what's to worry about? We have four of our freshman phenoms on the Waymon Tisdale List. I mean, come on!! Let's get excited around here!!! We are so good, we are spotting the opponents points!!
Tired of the hoorah? Well, let's not be losing our momentum just yet. Not seeing our kittens crushing people the way they should be? Not yet. However, it is coming. The momentum is building. And there are starting to be flashes of brilliance along with the usual freshman miscues. Patience, Grasshopper. In all seriousness, the Cats seem to be as advertised. We have unbelievable talent, and absolutely zero experience leading the way, so far. It is coming, however.
Even more good news expected around 1:00 E.S.T. today. Expect to hear the results here at ASOB. Gary Parrish is excited. He says that Kentucky plays in no less than three of the Top 20 games before conference play starts Jan.1st.
Who can't be jumping up and down when they see this?
The UK Hoops Squad got some nice bling as well, they are now the proud recipients of their own website, and they enter the season ranked #7/8. depending on which poll you choose. That UKHoops site is a completely interactive board for all things related to Kentucky Women's Basketball. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitpics, you name it. And they also carry interactive posts for all other UK Sports as well. It is extremely user-friendly and it is just an amazing link. You do not want to miss it. It is partnered with the UKAthletics Interactive site, which is pretty good itself.
Football you say? You want more football? Coming off their second win of the season should give the Cats some momentum, headed into battle against Mizzou come Saturday. So are the Cats ready? It is not going to be an easy task, and Stoops knows it. What will we see on the field at Commonwealth? I guarantee you this, they won't quit. The one thing I can say I have not seen out of any of these guys this season is quitting. Stoops has coached that out of them. They will not lie down for anyone. Let's be honest. Injuries are decimating this team, one position at a time. And still they will not quit. I believe everyone but Stoops has been injured at some point this season. We will survive. We will persevere.
And now, For The Rest Of The Stories- Eamonn Brennan brings us 68 things to get your 2013-2014 College Basketball season off to a running start. The Green Bay Packers are doing their best UK impersonation, as they too keep racking up the injuries. Where is the biggest college football game in the country being played Saturday night? In the SEC, of course. This Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin story just gets more and more sick. Beware, the language in some of this piece is not for the feint of heart. Where has drafting Kentucky players gotten their NBA franchises? Have a look at the NBA Power Rankings and see if you see, what I see.
Ahhh, The Links That Wild Weasel Would Never Bring You- What would you do with the Astrodome? Are you still running on WindowsXP? Looks like Microsoft is trying to put the fear of Bill Gates into you. Has anyone ever landed at any of these airports? If you have, I salute you, my friend. Do you spend a lot of time on the road? What if your car helped out from time to time?
Our Tweet of The Day comes from the NBA and tells the story of why the NBA Draft is so gut-wrenching:
No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett has as many made field goals through four NBA games as No. 6 pick Nerlens Noel ... who has not played a game.— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_CJ) November 5, 2013
