Well, ladies and gentlemen of the Big Blue Nation, we have 'em right where we want 'em. We've spotted them 12 points in the first half. Now, it's time to regroup, get back in the game with a little run, and see where we go from there.
Look, quite honestly, you never want to be down like this, but I'm not surprised. In fact, I expected to be down at half, but admittedly not by double-digits. Kentucky, quite honestly, has played about as poorly as possible. Only the shooting of James Young and the offensive rebounding of Alex Poythress kept us in the half. Some additional good news is the large number of fouls the Spartans racked up in the first half.
I expect the second half to be much different. Let's hope so. Randle is struggling, but his struggles are due to very poor spacing on the part of Kentucky. Honestly, that's the big problem that needs a solution, and if we find one, Kentucky will be able to get back in.
Defensively, UK wasn't very good, but they were better than I thought in the half court. Where they really stank was in transition, and you can expect a major adjustment on that at the half. Force MSU to play more half-court, and we'll probably be better off.
Go, 'Cats!
