Tonight, the Northern Kentucky Norse come to Rupp Arena for a tilt with the Kentucky Wildcats. Here are the viewing and listening particulars courtesy of UKAthletics.com:
- TV: FS South/UK IMG
- Radio: UK IMG
As virtually everybody knows by now, the Norse gave the Purdue Boilermakers all they could handle on Friday night, and did so primarily on the strength of 13 made 3-point shots. You can bet their plan against the mighty Kentucky Wildcats will be similar.
What we need to see tonight
30+ seconds of defense without breakdowns on most possessions;
More consistent offense, particularly in terms of patience;
Fewer personal fouls in terms of hand-checks and attempted charges. This year, you simply have to try to block the shot, not take the charge;
Better 3-point shooting. Kentucky cannot keep shooting sub-30% from three;
Better free throw shooting. Kentucky has struggled most of the time with free throws.
Enjoy the game. It's been a busy weekend for UK sports, and as a parting shot, I'll report that the UK women's team defeated Wagner 96-57. DeNeesha Stallworth led the way with 18 points and 13 boards.
Go, 'Cats!'
