Kentucky Wildcats: Morning Quickies - Lance Armstrong Edition

Morning Quickies
Morning Quickies

Today, Lance Armstrong threw up his hands after a long (and in this writer's opinion, improper) doping case pursued by the US Anti-Doping agency as well as just about everyone else in the world. Since Armstrong will not fight their circumstantial but not entirely meritless case, his 7 Tour de France titles will be vacated stripped if the USADA has it's way, although there are hurdles facing them that may derail, at least partially, that attempt.

Stanley Johnson Hearing From Big-Time Schools // ZagsBlog.com

When Coach Cal calls you, that means you are big-time. Don't buy that the California Golden Bears and Washington Huskies have dibs on this guy. Remember Terrence Jones and Kyle Wiltjer?

UK WR coach Pat Washington on Daryl Collins, Bookie Cobbins, Rashad Cunningham, Demarcus Sweat, A.J. Legree // vaughtsviews

Some negative and positive in here. Mostly, Cobbins and Collins are negative. Unless a light goes on, I don't expect either one to contribute much this year. Coaches can never really say, "they aren't ready," but when they say "they have work to do," it means they're not ready.

Legree and Sweat, now, that is some good news. I am really excited that these guys could help make our receiver corps dangerous this year.

"Birdman" could battle "Jorts" for Heat’s final roster spot // John Clay's Sidelines

Good luck to Josh Harrellson, I think he would be a good fit in Miami. Not only that, he could wind up with a ring on his finger with that team.

Miller looking to build on early playing time to aid inexperienced UK offensive line in 2012 // KyForward.com

Our O-line has been a big concern, but making it through the spring and summer without major injuries, in my mind, puts them ahead of last year's group. If they can stay in one piece, it could bode well for the season offensively.

Larry Warford Lone Kentucky Player on Senior Bowl Watch List

Given the media's propensity to kick Kentucky's season in the can before the first snap, I'm not surprised.

Who can say? All I know is that he's going to have to work hard to see the floor at all in Chicago. We'll see.

SI.com picks Kentucky to win just three football games // John Clay's Sidelines

I have to laugh at this. I feel confident UK will win more than that, but you never really know. Hey, we could be a surprise this year -- it's a sure bet nobody will see us coming.
