Via his Twitter account, 2013 shooting guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes announced that he plans to take an unofficial visit to Lexington this Friday. Rathan-Mayes is a longtime friend and teammate of the top prospect in the 2014 class, Andrew Wiggins. Both Rathan-Mayes and Wiggins play AAU ball for CIA Bounce and are teammates at powerhouse Huntington Prep, alma mater of ex-UK baller Patrick Patterson.

Rathan-Mayes previously took an unofficial visit to Kentucky last September with Wiggins. He had also been rumored to attend last year's Big Blue Madness with Wiggins, but chose to go to Connecticut's Midnight Madness instead. It's worth noting that recent speculation has Wiggins reclassifying to the 2013 class. Further, he and Rathan-Mayes may be a "package deal" for one lucky school, according to Adam Zagoria.

That could be a problem for Kentucky, which is considered a leader for two five-star guards, the Harrison twins from Fort Bend, Texas. Rathan-Mayes plays shooting guard, which is also the position of older brother Aaron Harrison. Many recruitniks state that Kentucky leads for Aaron and his twin brother Andrew, and it would seem unlikely that the Wildcats would want to add another guard should the Harrisons pick the Wildcats.

As of today, though, Rathan-Mayes has included Kentucky is his top 10 (listed below), and appears to be high on the Wildcats' Big Board. It's possible that Rathan-Mayes is just a hedge. However, as a talented player in his own right, Rathan-Mayes has been on John Calipari's radar for quite a while. And, of course, it doesn't hurt that he may play college ball alongside Wiggins, either.
