2013 wing Troy Williams, nephew of AAU legend Boo Williams, has narrowed his list down to the Kentucky Wildcats and North Carolina Tar Heels. From the Courier-Journal's article:
"They’re both good schools," Williams said last week during the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. "They’re like the top two programs out there right now, so it’s going to be a hard decision. But it will come down to which coach I like the best."
...
UK coach John Calipari has told Williams that he would play the same type of role that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist did this past season for the Wildcats."Kentucky plays a fast pace and coach (Calipari) is a good friend of my uncle’s," Williams said. He alsos said he gets along with North Carolina coach Roy Williams "and some of the players came from my uncle’s team. They get up and down, too, and have a lot of dunks."
Filling the shoes of MKG would be really hard to do for anyone, but this kid seems to be a similar type of player.
Here is a video of his comments to the Courier-Journal:
In case you missed it, he said it would basically come down to which coach he felt more comfortable with. Stay tuned, he's planning to decide very soon.
