Kentucky Basketball: Underclassmen to Announce Draft Decisions Tomorrow

Kentucky's super freshmen may soon be moving on.
Kentucky's super freshmen may soon be moving on.

Per multiple sources, and confirmed by the university, Kentucky's five underclassmen will announce their NBA Draft intentions at press conference at 2:00 p.m. EDT tomorrow. The five players--Anthony Davis, Terrence Jones, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Doron Lamb, and Marquis Teague--all started for this year's NCAA Championship-winning team. It is expected all of them will announce that they will enter the NBA Draft and forgo any remaining years of eligibility.

Davis is considered a lock for the #1 overall pick, and Kidd-Gilchrist and Jones should be drafted in the lottery as well. Lamb and Teague are on the first-round bubble, though both played their stock up with strong NCAA Tournament performances. A sixth Wildcat, Darius Miller, is also hoping to get drafted after a solid senior season.

The Wildcats are announcing their intentions following the NCAA "mandated" April 10 withdrawal deadline, meaning once their paperwork is submitted, they will officially be ex-student athletes. The cynic may also say it's another way for John Calipari to bite his thumb at the NCAA by having his players purposely ignore the NCAA deadline.

Whatever each player's intentions are, all of them put together a season for the ages and will live forever in Kentucky lore.
