As of Thursday afternoon, over 17,000 tickets to tonight's game have been sold, so this should be a very exciting game, indeed, with a near-men's crowd cheering for the two teams.
Here's a few game notes:
- A'dia Mathies needs more consistent play tonight. The Kentucky All-American guard has been up and down this year.
- Freshman Janee Thomson had a big game against the Louisville Cardinals. Can she reprise that with another big effort tonight?
- DePaul is unranked, but garnered 9 votes in last week's AP poll. They are plenty tough enough to beat the Wildcats tonight.
- DePaul is 6-2 on the year and is fresh of a win against Northwestern.
- Kentucky is the first ranked opponent, and first road game, for DePaul this year.
- This is the first meeting between DePaul and Kentucky in the modern era, the third all-time.
- DePaul shot 40% from the arc, and made 10 3's, in their last game.
This is a big game for Kentucky, and nobody wants to disappoint 17,000+ fans. Go, 'Cats!
