I still can't get over how incredibly well UK played offensively in the first half. Kyle Wiltjer, Jarrod Polson, Archie Goodwin and Willie Cauley-Stein and Julius Mays were just terrific. I am pleasantly surprised.
What I was not pleased with was the play of Alex Poythress, Nerlens Noel, and the whole Kentucky team when it comes to offensive rebounding. Seriously, 19-6 Maryland on the offensive glass? I expected them to beat us there but not more than triple us up.
That has to change, and right fast. Love the way we run, Maryland has no chance when we do, it's like a Ferrari vs. a Yugo. But those opportunities have been mitigated by Maryland's outstanding offensive rebounding. Everybody is what we expected them to be except Noel, and he was hampered by fouls -- but that attempt to take a charge was stupid. Hopefully, Calipari will convince him he's too valuable to play that way.
Okay, now for the second half. Hope it's as good as the first.
Go, 'Cats!
