For the second year in a row, Kentucky and Transylvania, perhaps two of the closest schools to ever play a college basketball game in an arena as large as Rupp, get together for the Battle of Broadway.
Here's what I'm looking for tonight:
- Sharper execution on offense;
- Good 3-point defense;
- Fewer turnovers than against Northwood;
- Stronger guard play from Ryan Harrow;
- More energy from Alex Poythress;
- More leadership from Kyle Wiltjer;
- Another good game from Nerlens Noel and Archie Goodwin.
This should be fun, but we need to see real progress. In only 4 days, Kentucky travels up to Brooklyn, New York to take on the Maryland Terrapins for the official kickoff to the season. If the Wildcats are not ready for that game, they will surely wind up 0-1 to start the year, and then it gets even tougher 4 days later versus the Duke Blue Devils in Atlanta.
Kentucky can't afford to take this game off. We need to see progress tonight.
Go, 'Cats!
