Could the Kentucky Wildcats be close to landing their first commitment in the 2015 class? According to his high school's athletics director, 2015 center Karl Towns from Metuchen (N.J.) St. Joseph's plans to announce his collegiate decision on December 4.

Kentucky is considered a heavy favorite for Towns. The talented big man is a consensus 5* recruit in the class, at or near the top of the recruiting lists. Towns is the only prospect in the 2015 class to receive a Kentucky offer, which happened back in September.
Towns, who is going into his sophomore year, made the Dominican Republic National Team, coached by John Calipari this summer. Though the team missed out on an Olympics berth, Towns participated in Olympic qualifying games and National Team practices.
Towns sports offers from a who's who of college basketball programs, including the Florida Gators, Syracuse Orange, Villanova Wildcats, Connecticut Huskies, Michigan St. Spartans, and North Carolina Tar Heels. Will the young sophomore actually announce in December? Well, if anything, his latest tweet is predictably ambiguous.
Just lovin life right now.

[UPDATE] Per Ben Roberts of NextCats, Towns' commitment will be televised on the MSG Network.
