Tonight's game features the proverbial matchup between experience and talent. The Seahawks have a lot of experience, and Kentucky is ridiculously talented. Talent figures to win out in this case.
Nobody knows for sure who will be starting for Kentucky, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see Ryan Harrow at the point, Nerlens Noel at center, Kyle Wiltjer at one forward and Archie Goodwin at a wing position. Alex Poythress has been fairly frequently criticized for Calipari for lack of defense, so it will be interesting to see if he shows up in the starting lineup, or if someone else like Jon Hood or Willie Cauley-Stein gets the start.
The big question this game, to me, is how will Kentucky defend the perimeter. That will be a pretty good indicator of whether or not Calipari has got their full attention yet. I'm sure we'll see a lot of not-so-great basketball out of this young bunch in this game, but that's to be expected.
Enjoy the game. Basketball competition has officially begun. Go, 'Cats!
