Thanks to Ben Roberts of NextCats, we have an update on two of Kentucky's main remaining 2013 targets, Julius Randle and Andrew Wiggins.

Ben says that neither player is expected to make a commitment until spring, which makes all the sense in the world for them. A prime-time player leaving or not from one of their highest-interest schools could do much to affect their final decision, and that won't be clear to any extent until at least February of the new year.

Regarding Wiggins, Ben offers this from Scout.com's Evan Daniels:

"[Wiggins] says he wants other schools to recruit him. How we’re going to tell if he’s serious about it is if he reciprocates with visits to those campuses," Daniels said.

"It’s fair to say that Kentucky and Florida State are leaders because they’ve been there for so long. They’ve been recruiting him for years."

This isn't going to change, either. Calipari wants this kid, has his sights set on getting him, and I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for the chances of any other school as of right now. Florida St. certainly has an "in" with Wiggins' dad being an alumnus, but similar advantages didn't help Maryland with Aaron and Andrew Harrison.

If you think Wiggins is tough to read, Randle is virtually opaque:

For so long, followers of Randle’s recruitment were nearly unanimous in thinking that Kentucky was the leader. After the Harrison twins picked the Cats, some shifted to the theory that Florida and Texas would be more likely landing spots. Now, this report says it’s Texas and N.C. State.

The report he refers to is one out of an N.C. State site. While I could come around to the idea that Texas coach Rick Barnes might beat out Calipari for an in-state star, you'll never convince me that Mark Gottfried could get him away from Calipari. Yes, I could be wrong, and yes, Gottfried is an outstanding recruiter, but he's not even in the same solar system as Coach Cal.

We'll be watching these two a long time, it looks like.
