For the second day in a row, and considering the feedback I received yesterday, we will tweak the format for the Quickies. Please leave comments, complete the poll below, or both

Tweet of the Morning:

What can I say? It's been a really quiet morning on the Twitter front.

Kentucky Football
  • Kentucky Kernel writer demands comment from Mitch Barnhart about the football program
As I have said in the comments, forcing Phillips to resign early is what the fans want, but I don't think Barnhart is going to give it to them, just like he didn't give them Brooks' head back in 2005. I don't think he can get away with that this year, but he can, and apparently will (and I think, should) make us wait.

  • Sorry, boys, Barnhart isn't talking.
Deal with it. Curse him if you want, threaten his job (it makes me laugh big belly laughs when people do that), whatever. The players don't want talk, they want to finish the season. The fans and media want talk. I think Barnhart is going to make them wait, and I think he should.

  • More "Fire Phillips Now" talk from Matt Jones
How is it leaving in a "positive manner" for Phillips to be dismissed mid-season? I don't get that reasoning. There is no positive way for this to end, and I suspect that Phillips is too proud to go down this road. A falling out would be catastrophic for the team, and the best thing to do is to let the season play out and deal with it quickly at the end. Firing Phillips may make the fans more optimistic, but it would throw the team into despair. Why prolong their agony? We do have to take the players into account a little bit.

  • J.D. Harmon honorable mention defensive back of the week.
When a walk-on freshman has the best game in your secondary, you might have ... issues. Still, it was a tremendous performance.

  • The future of the linebacking corps looks bright.
Let it not be said that there is nothing positive out of this season. A lot of young guys this year will be experienced guys next year. That should be a big positive when recruiting a new coaching staff.
