Kentucky Wildcats: All-Access Kentucky Preview With John Calipari

John Calipari is known for chewing the fat. Watch him in an intimate casual setting with some random Wildcats fans at Wheeler's Pharmacy in Lexington.

Over at CoachCal.com, they have a preview of the all-access stuff that ESPN will be doing with the Kentucky team this year.

The scene is set in the Wheeler Pharmacy soda fountain/lunch bar where John Calipari is sitting down with some Wildcats fans having breakfast and talking about this year's team. It has a similar feel to the iconic Woolworth's of the 1960's that I always used to stop by when I was a kid. I'm sure many older Kentucky fans had similar experiences.

According to Eric Lindsey, this is what the all-access programs will be about:

The episodes will chronicle teaching six new players the Kentucky system and trying to mold high school superstars into instant national champions, all while recruiting the class of 2013. The series will showcase what life can be like on a top-level collegiate basketball team, providing a unique window into the first step in building a national champion.

You may wonder what this has to do with it, but basically it's Calipari telling these guys that this team won't be as good as last year, and he isn't quite sure what to do with them yet -- basically, the same stuff we've all heard before.

Still, it's absolutely worth the 30 seconds or so it takes to watch.
