Big Blue Nation Linkapalooza: Recruitopalooza Edition

There's been a few juicy recruiting nuggets that have surfaced over the last week (including some links already included in previous paloozas). For convenience, we've got them all in one place for easy access. No, Kentucky still doesn't have a recruit for the class of 2012, and no, you shouldn't be expecting one anytime soon. But it's still fun to follow the yellow brick road...

  • Perry Ellis down to four schools
Quite a few of Kentucky's targets narrowed down their lists. The first up is 2012 PF Perry Ellis, who dropped latecomer Duke. Kentucky makes the cut against three Kansas schools: Kansas, Kansas State and Wichita State.

  • Mitch McGary narrows list to six
Fellow 2012 PF Mitch McGary named a top six of Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, Duke and Kentucky, in no particular order. McGary and Ellis are considered the top 2 power forward prospects on Kentucky's big board.

  • Anthony Bennett trims list to 10 schools
A third 2012 PF took keep under consideration is Anthony Bennett. Kentucky is included on his revised list along with UConn, UNLV, and others.

  • Andre Drummond narrows it to five
It's still up in the air whether the 2012 center will actually attend college, but if he does, his list is Connecticut, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgetown, and West Virginia. DaJuan Coleman is Kentucky's primary target at center, while McGary could play at the 5 as well.

  • Archie Goodwin cuts two teams from list
The 2012 shooting guard form Arkansas is a key target for Kentucky; Jeff Goodman thinks that Goodwin could be UK's first commit. Goodwin previously said Arkansas and Kentucky should be considered the two favorites. He just recently cut Florida and Louisville from his list.

  • Kentucky at the top of Torian Graham’s list
2012 SG Torian Graham recently decommitted from NC State. He's re-opened his recruitment to include Kentucky, UCLA, Louisville, Florida State, Baylor and Xavier along with the Wolfpack. Kentucky had previously shown interest prior to Graham's commitment but has not formally offered. He's likely not a high priority for Calipari at this point with Goodwin and Ricardo Ledo showing so much interest.

  • Derek Willis unofficially visits Kentucky campus
Another recent decommit is 2013 local star Derek Willis (from Bullitt East), who had previously been committed to Purdue. Willis took an unexpected visit to Kentucky over the weekend and enjoyed it. He's also visited Louisville.

  • Alex Poythress takes unofficial visit to Kentucky
Kentucky hosted a couple other prospects over the weekend. The first was from a key 2012 target. Poythress is a combo forward that can slot at either the 3 or 4 spots, and would be a take while still leaving a spot open for Shabazz Muhammad.

  • Local product Jackson Davis visits Kentucky
The other visit was from Jackson Davis, a PF in the 2014 class from nearby Lafayette High School in Lexington. His dad, Jonathan, played for Kentucky back in the day.

  • Chris Walker has some favorites
2013 power forward Chris Walker talked to CBS Sports' Jeff Borzello. He listed five favorites: Florida, Kentucky, Ohio State, Kansas and Florida State. Somewhat surprisingly, Kentucky has not offered Walker despite offering fellow Floridians Kasey Hill and Malik Price-Martin. Expect that to change soon.
  • Chris Obekpa improves stock after big July
Lastly, is there another name on Kentucky's radar? The 2012 PF has offers from Providence, Memphis, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, and West Virginia.
