The University of Kentucky has released the men's basketball nonconference schedule for the 2011-2012 season. The schedule, as it should be, is peppered with traditional basketball powers North Carolina, Kansas, Indiana, and Louisville, along with programs on the rise, including Old Dominion, and Penn State.
Game dates to remember: The season opener against Marist in Rupp Arena on November 11; November 15 versus Kansas in New York; November 19 against Penn State in Connecticut; and four December home games against St. Johns (Dec. 1); North Carolina (Dec. 3) in a game that could potentially match the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country; Indiana (Dec. 10); and of course the vile Cards on New Year's Eve (nothing like ringing in the New Year with a victory over Rick Pitino and the Cardinals).
