Samford comes into this game off victories over two NAIA schools, Spring Hill College and Lindsey Wilson College. The Bulldogs are stepping up in the world, challenging the #3 ranked Wildcats on their home turf.

Also, the word is that Terrence Jones will not even dress for this game. Just as well, that injury is not as trivial as some people think.

Keys to tonight's game:

  • Defend the three. Samford will shoot a ton of them;
  • Attack the rim. The Bulldogs don't defend particularly well, and I can't see how they can defend Kentucky off the bounce;
  • Attack the offensive glass. Samford is vulnerable there.
  • Put pressure on the Bulldog ballhandlers. Samford is prone to turnovers under pressure;
  • Watch the back cuts and down screens.

This game should be very similar to the one against the Chattanooga Mocs we just played on Saturday, both in game play and outcome.

Go, 'Cats!
