Coast2Coast Recruiting is hearing that #1 2012 recruit Shabazz Muhammad may be considering Kentucky a slight favorite:
One person I talked to that is close to the Shabazz recruitment told me that Kentucky is making the strongest push for him right now and he felt if he had to decide today that Shabazz would pick Kentucky.
This doesn't mean that a commitment is imminent, of course, nor that the above statement accurately reflects what is on Muhammad's mind. But what is interesting is that this report coincides approximately with the now-conventional wisdom that a 20-year old age limit won't be in the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement for this year at least, and perhaps even longer. The word is that the issue has been "tabled" for now.
In any case, it appears that none of this year's draft class will be affected by the rule if it is revisited before the draft is held. This is an upside for Kentucky's recruitment of Muhammad, no doubt, but obviously it also means a brand-new team this year, with UK possibly losing its entire starting rotation by the end of the year to early entry, plus sixth-man Darius Miller to graduation.
