As you all know by now, this is a BLACKOUT game for Kentucky, the first every at our school. Hopefully it will really add to the fan excitement and enjoyment. It better, because this is one of only three more home opportunities for Kentucky, and these are as precious as gold at this point.
A victory here would make a bowl invitation significantly more likely this season, as every other game that UK has is winnable, except possibly the Georgia game in Athens. But we need to take care of first things first, and first things are the Starkville Dawgs.
Things I hope to see:
- A good running game and good run blocking;
- Win the turnover battle;
- Continue to avoid penalties. Believe it or not, Kentucky is the least-penalized team in the SEC at under 3 per game.
- Defend the run, and tackle the football.
MSU is a very tough team despite their record. Like us, they have played some really good teams or solid teams on the road. They had LSU in their own stadium, had to travel to Georgia and Auburn, as well as facing South Carolina at home in a narrow loss.
We really could use this one to keep the momentum
Go, 'Cats!
