This will be the third time the Wildcats have faced the Delta Devils this decade (and also in history), twice with former Wildcat "Unforgettable" Sean Woods at the helm.

We know that Woods will want his team to play up-tempo and press constantly, just like Rick Pitino back during the days when Woods was his point guard. That should lead to an entertaining basketball game with lots of running, jumping and shooting.

What to look for:

  • Terrence Jones' body language. The last couple of games, Jones has been up and down. What will we see tonight?
  • Who will be the eighth player off the bench, Stacey Poole or Jon Hood? Calipari declared a few days ago that Poole was going to start getting some of Hood's minutes, but I'm sure Hood has not taken that laying down.
  • Will we see Brandon Knight continue his unselfish play when he will be tempted to score every time down?
  • Will we see a test run of some zone defense? I feel like we will.
  • How well will the Wildcats handle a Pitino-style press, similar to what we will see next week versus the Cardinals?

This Delta Devils team does some things that we'll be seeing from better teams later on that we have not yet seen this year, so it should be interesting in that regard. It is a mismatch, so I don't expect a close game, but I didn't expect one against the Sam Houston St. Bearkats last year, but we know how that turned out.

Go, 'Cats!
