It's been a while since I have done a news post and commented on what others are saying, so this seems as good a time as any.
First up in my news reader today: Chris Diggs of the Courier-Journal UK fan blog on Leonard Washington. I'm sure most of you are up on this story, but Washington is a former Southern Cal commit who got released from his NLOI. Since then, there have been numerous stories about him and his grades, that maybe he would prep, that he was fully qualified ... everything under the sun.
Chris reports that the latest rumors are, he could be in a situation similar to Ramon Harris -- that is, he could get cleared by the NCAA clearing house in order to begin in the middle of the year. Is this a good thing? I don't know -- Washington is definitely talented, and can put the ball in the basket. I think I'll just defer to the coaching staff on this guy.
Chris also has a rundown on where all the UK recruits wound up on the latest iteration of the Rivals 150.
The Maysville Ledger-Independent has this article on Darius Miller, which contains some interesting insight into his personality. Is it just me, or is this guy's recruitment starting to look a lot like that of Patrick Patterson?
John Clay demonstrates today why so many in the college football world have relatively low expectations for Kentucky football this year, despite the almost universal acknowledgment that UK will have a very good team. It's the schedule, stupid ... UK is the only team in the nation to face six (6) of the top 20 pre-season ranked teams. Our friends down I-64 only play two (2). John breaks this article down further on his blog.
I don't know about you, but I find this is funny. No Bruce Pearl lover, I.
I suppose I should make the obligatory mention of Randolph Morris' arrest. OK, I mentioned it.
