Today, UK announced the 2007 Men's basketball schedule. You can see it below:
This is perhaps the weakest non-conference schedule we have had since 2004, but depending on the draw for the Coaches vs. Cancer classic, it should be a solid NC test. I think UMass would have made the schedule a little more to my liking, but we have already been over that.
Just looking at a couple of spots on the schedule that are going to be interesting:
- Dec 1-8 -- North Carolina and Indiana back-to-back. Ouch.
- Jan 19-22 -- At Florida, followed by Tennessee at home.
- Mar 2-9 -- On the road to South Carolina and Tennessee, the Florida at home.
But really, this doesn't look like a punishing schedule, as Kentucky schedules go. I doubt if we are going to be in the top 10 toughest schedules with this lineup, but with a young team and a new coach, I think it makes sense.
