Kentucky Basketball: Around the Web

It's time to catch up on the UK basketball news many of us missed over the long holiday weekend.

First, Chris Diggs of the Courier-Journal UK fan blog has a post linking to a video of a Willie Warren Dunk.  Filthy.  More of this kind of ability on our team, please.

Aaron's blog links to a post by Dick "Hoops" Weiss informing us that former Wildcat and tallest man ever to suit up in the blue and white, Shagari Allene, has signed with an agent.  Good luck, Shagari -- you are the only player connected with UK that has any chance to be drafted this year.

Hoops also has a retrospective on Howard Porter , the 58 year-old former Villanova Wildcat who was found badly beaten last week and expired from his wounds over the weekend.  Further down in that same post, Hoops looks at the AAU Tournament of Champions that was held over Memorial Day, including UK target Tyler Zeller.

In other recruiting news, the Cats Pause thinks Hank Thorns, the point guard receiving attention from the Wildcats in the 11th hour, will be waving at Lexington on his way to Blacksburg to play for Virginia Tech.

Finally, Van Coleman of CSTV has a look at the results of the Tournament of Champions, including the all-tournament honors. UK recruit Tyler Zeller was named MVP.

Update [2007-5-29 18:23:41 by Truzenzuzex]:  UK 2008 recruit DeAndre Liggins broke his foot Friday at the Tournament of Champions.

Go Big Blue Cats has a new post up full of links including news on Randolph Morris, basketball attendance, and more.
