Late Night Basketblogging

Once again, I find myself working far into the night, and being up past my bedtime is playing tricks on my senses.  Voices from the ether -- "... and Patrick Patterson says it will be ..."  Well, I'm not telling what the voice says.  It may be right, it may be wrong, but one thing is sure - Patterson will be wearing some kind of blue tomorrow.  It's the hue and complimentary colors that have us all tied up in knots.

Can you feel the excitement?  I know I should be more adult, more dispassionate, more ... eh, "Devil may care", but I'd be lying if I said that.  I am excited, nervous, tied up in knots to know if we get to toast some new, much-needed front-court help, or if the mighty Wildcats will strike out in the spring.

Well, just for the heck of it, I think maybe I won't bore our late night audience to death with my psychedelic ruminations.  Instead, I'll check around and see what news can be had ...

Ah, here is something.  The always intrepid Jody Demling has reached out and spoken to Travis Hubbard at the Huntington Herald-Dispatch.  Travis tells us that Patterson has made up his mind, and that all are welcome to come to the signing ceremony.  Poor kid, he knows not what he does.  Hell hath no fury like that of a jilted Kentucky fan.  But then, maybe he doesn't plan on ... Oh, stop it Tru, you could drive yourself crazy like that ...

So on we go, let's see ... Schizophrenia!  This Travis Hubbard guy can't make up his freaking mind, he's like a John Kerry bobblehead.  First he writes a teaser article, then this  blog?  My mind is too small.

Our brother SB Nation blog Swamp Ball has a very gracious and temperate post up, without even a hint of smack talk.  In case you didn't realize it, that is just one more illustration why the SB Nation is so great -- mutual respect.  Contrast with this fun post of yesterday.  Great job, Swamp Ball dudes.  If you visit, be sure to show the same respect they have shown the BBN -- leaving aside the smack talk, Florida has certainly earned some.

More?  Sure.  Alex Legion tells us via the Herald-Leader and his coach Steve Smith that his conversation with Patrick Patterson indicated Duke was a somewhat distant third, as of sometime Monday.  So what does this mean?  Nothing, but I wrote about the odds being 33% earlier.  I like them a lot better the closer to 50% they get.

Well, I think that's enough.  Good night to all.  Tomorrow is a big day.

Go Big Blue!
