It started as internet buzz, but has since been confirmed via Matt Jones, that UK recruit Mike Williams -- and erstwhile giant British dude -- has been suspended from playing basketball by his coaching staff at Bishop Ireton High School. He will remain on the team, but not participate in games, apparently.
In a comment to Jones, Williams' coach, Mark Vincent, notes that "This is an internal issue with the team right now and thus I cannot comment on the specifics."
In January, I interviewed Mike for this site, and found him humble and hoping to continue improving.
Here's hoping it's nothing big. I think this kid was an interesting pick-up, and would hate for something like this to derail his coming to (our) UK.
