The UK men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, tackling regional powerhouse Indiana in Bloomington (Ind.) in a stiff test to the young Wildcats season.
After having their game against Akron rained out over the weekend, the soccer Cats stand at 7-1-1, ranked fifth in the Midwest region by the NSCAA. While the Cats have slipped out of the rankings after a loss to Michigan two weeks ago, they are still on the cusp of an historic season for the program.
Riley O'Neill, the Cats' leading scorer, ranks in the top 5 nationally in goals, points per game (goals and assists) while the Wildcats rank in the national top 10 in shutout percentage, goals against and scoring offense.
A win over Indiana (6-2-3) would go a long way toward cementing the upstart Cats' national image.
