Despite my clear obsession with the hoops Cats, the football Wildcats are also in summer recruiting season, and have picked up this week a fifth early commitment in John Keye.
The 6'4" Keye, an athletic receiver from Georgia, helps fill the hole left by academic casualties Lonnell Dewalt and LaShun Watson, and also helps the Cats grab some talent from Georgia, a hotbed of young skill players. Rivals rated Keye the 33rd-best prospect in the state.
Also a Louisville target, Keye picked up 47 passes for 767 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior campaign. Other college interest came from LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama and Florida State, among others.
According to the Cats' Pause, Keye said of his choice: "I really wanted an opportunity to play in the SEC. I've been watching the SEC ever since I was little... and they're really trying to turn the program around up there. I think I can be a big part of that."
