Fresh off its weekend series win over #19 Florida, the Kentucky baseball team entered a new week of polls with some Uncle Mo.

USAToday, who has been hesitant to jump on the UK bandwagon thus far, finally put the 25-8 Cats at #24, leapfrogging the Gators. Combined with the arrival of fellow SEC member Georgia in the top 25, a staggering eight conference teams -- out of just 12 possible -- are in the top 25.

I guess it's safe to say the SEC is the nation's best conference for baseball right now? Certainly its most prolific.

Baseball America puts the Bat Cats at #19.

Collegiate Baseball was less kind, keeping UK at the #25 spot for the second straight week.

Additionally, for the fourth time in six weeks, the Cats had the SEC's Player of the Week. This week's winner: Sean Coughlin.

Coughlin led the UK to its first series victory over Florida since 1999 while batting .727 with a home run and seven RBIs. He added four doubles and scored seven runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth of game one.

All in all, a great week -- and continuing great year -- for Kentucky baseball.
