Tom Leach talks with Coach Cal about Terrence Jones' recovery, lots of other things.
Check out the latest headlines on The Leach Report. Pro Basketball News is the item of interest.
Tom Leach calls out critics of Calipari who ignore or excuse identical behavior by other coaches. Short piece, but the point is as clear as a bell. I would add that Tubby Smith did very a very similar thing with Jason Parker, but nobody mentions that.
Here's a taste: "Watching the practice, I got the notion that his system is kinda like football's west coast offense. It's not about designed plays but instead is based on the quarterback and his receivers reading and reacting to how the defense plays them. If the point guard, i.e. quarterback, can take it to the hole, that's the first option but he if reads that he can't get there, then he kicks it off to the best option versus how the defense is reacting to the attack. There was a lot of talk about staring down a defender when the dribbler is driving upcourt, to get him back on his heels and enable you to blow past him. And there was plenty of coaching on making the simple play rather than worrying about what will get you on Sportscenter."
Horn says he would like to be "Kentucky-like" at South Carolina. Nice interview. I think Horn was a terrific hire for the Gamecocks.
Tom Leach's thoughts on the game.
Have a listen. Great stuff as usual from Tom.
This is a really great interview by Tom Leach. It's really heartwarming to hear tough-guy Wesley Woodyard talk about how he loves the Wildcats, how he still keeps in touch with the team all the time, how he wears UK stuff all the time. Great, great listen. Recommended.
